The Sami
The Sápmi people have been living in Sweden long before the Vikings and has a rich culture and language that still lives today, despite of Sweden's and the other neighbouring countries treatments towards them, including colonialization, convertion to Christianity, churchgoing, forcible displacements, tax paying and were forbidden to speak their native language in public places. Today the Samis are famous for their yoiking, their colourful traditional clothing and reindeer herding. They are spread out in the northern parts of Sweden, the Kola Peninsula in Russia, northernmost Finland and inland region of northern Norway; a region called Sápmi - Samiland.Swedish Multi Language Dictionary
